Electromagnetic Induction

Michael Faraday

Electromagnetic induction is obtaining electricity from magnetism, and obtaining magnetism from electricity. This was observed by Michael Faraday. Electricity is obtained only in this was and by heating ( photoelectric effect ). This electricity is used to heat up things, run fans, ACs, lights, e.t.c. He also made an electromagnet, a coil generator, and many things that included electricity and magnetism.

               An Electromagnet

When you make a copper coil, and move a strong bar magnet to and fro inside the coil, you induce electricity into  the wire or get electricity, which is passing through the wire. Now, this electricity is used to power gadgets at our homes and offices.

The vice versa of it is that when you loop a copper wire around any metal, and pass electricity through the wire, the metal becomes a magnet!
These magnets are known as electromagnets, and metal cleaners obtain scrap metal from garbage in this way.
