NASA planned to save Earth from asteroids, that may crash on Earth. Many asteroids have crashed on our planet and killed people and damaged property. So, NASA has planned to slow down asteroids that come closer to Earth and put it in orbit around moon. Then, manned missions would go to moon to study that asteroid.
Robotic spacecrafts would land on asteroids closer to earth, and capture it in a capture bag. The craft will then analyze it as a useful asteroid having resources for about 50 days. Then it will put that asteroid into lunar orbit. Manned spacecrafts would be sent from earth to study that asteroid. By this, we can save life and we can study asteroids easily.
NASA plans to launch this mission in 2018, after constructing the capturing spacecraft to capture a small asteroid, that will come closer to earth. This will be the first mission, capturing an asteroid to study it.
